About Me

Hi, I’m Becky. I’m a mother, technologist, and a writer.

After I dropped out of the “Great Books” college, I accidentally stumbled into an IT career. My love of learning and the ever-evolving nature of IT seemed like a good match.

For 20+ years, I’ve held a number of roles like web developer, systems administrator, and consultant. I get a special joy from writing, helping others, and solving problems.

In recent years, my blog has allowed me to create connections and inclusion into the Tech Community. Community is the space within which I both re-discovered a childhood love for writing and awakened a hero’s journey kind-of-desire to encourage others to share their stories. I’m a proud member of the following groups: NetApp A-Team Advocate, Tech Field Day Delegate, and vExpert.

Maybe you’ve read my blog posts at BeckyElliott.com. I pour my heart on that site in part for self-reflection purposes, but also because I want to shatter that socially-isolating perception that we live in a world of rainbows and unicorns. Life can be hard, and there is tremendous strength in “realness.”
